#9 - Amazon Ads | Self-Targeting Ads
12th September 2021

Hey,

Welcome back to Author Ads Insider!

This week, we are diving into Amazon Ads once again and setting up what I call Self-Targeting Ads. Essentially, with Self-Targeting Ads, we are advertising our own books on other books in our catalog or series.

Why?

The main reason for running these Self-Targeting Ads is to take up more real estate on our own book product pages.

As I'm sure you've seen, Amazon plaster huge numbers of books on your product pages! There are various different carousels of books:

- Also Boughts
- Also Viewed
- Also Read
- Sponsored Products (Amazon Ads)

Hopefully, if you have a few books published, your Also Boughts, Viewed and Read, will be populated with some of your own books!

If not, the more books you sell, the more likely your own books will appear in your own Also Boughts, Viewed and Read.

However, one thing we can do from day one is position our books in the Sponsored Products carousel, with our Self-Targeting Ads.

If we weren't running these Self-Targeting Ads, the spaces on the Sponsored Products carousel would be taken up by other books! So, it certainly pays to get multiple books of yours on your own book product pages and protect your author brand real estate.

I have found these Self-Targeting Ads to be very profitable, and deliver strong conversion rates, so definitely something to experiment with on your own books.

In this weeks video, I'm going to show you behind the scenes of a Self-Targeting Ad I'm currently running, as well as how to set up your own Self-Targeting Ad.

These are very quick and simple Amazon Ads to set up and can be an amazing addition to your current Amazon Ads.

If you have any questions about what we've talked about today, please don't hesitate to hit reply on this email and let me know.

Next Sunday, I'm going to be showing you how to stack social proof on your Facebook Ads; a tactic that can really amplify your Facebook Ads results!

As I've mentioned on a few occasions in the past, I'm always open to ideas for topics you'd like me to cover in Author Ads Insider, so if you are having any challenges with your Ads, or there's an area you'd like me to explore deeper, please let me know and I will add them into the content calendar.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I look forward to seeing you back here again, same time, same place, next weekend.

To Your Success
Matt
